Mediation Movement
Mediation / Sound / Movement
Movement meditation is very helpful tool to releases strong negative emotions such as grief, sadness, frustration, anger, hopelessness and overall anxiety and depression. When we get stuck in difficult emotions and continue to play the same narratives over and over from the past or have feelings of fear and anxiety about the future we may tend to shut down and bottle these emotions in the basements of our body temples.
Meditation using sound and movement allows us to befriend our bodies to create a space to let go of stress and anxiety in order and release tension without judgement to find peace, relaxation, and harmony within. This practice is not about physical flexibility but more about emotional liberation and compassionate empowerment. These movements use breath, sound, guided meditation, journaling, affirmations, and music. These simple poses are a form of surrender, a way to let go of suffering or pain and to reconnect to the gift of love, joy, happiness, and contentment.
Heartwise is offering this practice, led by a trained facilitator, within a group, or individually, through a variety of easy-to-follow yoga-like movements, and flowing exercises while in a chair, standing, or lying down depending on the needs of the group or individuals. These poses are powerful ways to move through the pain and suffering.
Neuroscience research has shown that emotional and mental healing can be alleviated when we become aware of our inner experiences and learn to understand and make friends with them. Movement meditation allows us to feel our feelings, and then identify where the pain and struggle live in the body.
At Heartwise we are offering movement meditation in schools, senior communities, bereavement groups, yoga studios, addiction centers, hospitals, prisons, homeless shelters, and corporate groups. We also personalize programs for individuals to release their wounds and find peace and relaxation within.
